CAD Engineer (f/m/d)

About the Unit

YARA Environmental Technologies is the center of competence for basic / detail engineering and turnkey solutions of DeNOx systems. With several hundred of systems installed globally our flue gas cleaning systems are used for the efficient removal of pollutants from flue gas using catalytic & non-catalytic denitrification processes. Hazardous substances (NOx, SOx, Hg, Dioxin, etc.) are substantially reduced through an ideal combination of our systems to provide tried-and-tested, leading-edge technologies for environment-friendly power plants and industrial applications.

We take Yara’s mission to “protect the planet” seriously. Our systems clean the air and protect the planet through the delivery of NOx abatement systems for a wide range of power plants and stationary industrial processes. We develop and supply equipment for cleaning exhaust gases from industrial plants and support Yara in implementing decarbonization, efficiency enhancement and optimization projects.

The YARA Environmental Technologies unit has the stability and security that comes from being part of a major international corporation, while offering opportunities to experience a variety of plant engineering tasks in an agile, dynamic team. This "Stationary" unit within Yara Industrial Solutions global function employs around 70 people in Austria, Taiwan and Poland.

Responsibilities

This role combines designing responsibilities with CAD/CAE software, ensuring high-quality - practical design, compliance with standards, and efficient data management to support sales, project execution and product development.

Engineering & Design
Generates 2D & 3D model/drawings of equipment, routing of piping, steel structure (general arrangement to detail drawings). Organizing the data exchange for computer aided based databases. Develop drawings from general arrangements through to detailed design level. Ensure design compliance with regulations, codes, and standards (mainly ISO, EN, ASME). Execute design activities following HESQ rules, TOPs and Code of Conduct.

Technical Support & Coordination
Support Sales Department with technical expertise. Assist Project Management during project execution. Work in close alignment with the Project Technical Lead Engineer. Coordinate design tasks within the discipline, including subcontractors and clients. Communicate and interface with other engineering disciplines.

Documentation & Standardization
Prepare and review technical documentation and drawings. Develops and approves harmonized tools for design related topics. Contribute to design standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.

Product Development & Operations
Contribute to equipment production (assist QAQC/package engineer during factory acceptance test) and product development.

Training & Knowledge Sharing
Support in technical training (internal). Train engineers in software use.

CAD/CAE System Usage
Usage of Autodesk Vault (data management) and Autodesk Inventor (3D engineering). Maintain and update software, material databases, templates and 3D libraries of vendor equipment.
Profile

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
At least 5 years of experience in a similar position.
Strong understanding of international design standards and regulations (ISO, EN, ASME).
Advanced CAD skills, preferably with Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor, and Vault.
Experience creating and managing detailed 2D and 3D engineering models and drawings.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in international project environments.
Proactive, quality-focused, and safety-conscious mindset with strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
Additional Information

The position is located in Vienna/Austria in the Gasometer which is perfectly connected to public traffic.

The salary is based on the valid collective agreement (Kollektivvertrag Information und Consulting). Depending on the qualification and experience, there is a strong willingness for a significant overpayment.
