Role Summary
The ATS RADAR Rating Expert is a senior, hands-on specialist focused exclusively on Guidewire RADAR rating. This role designs, implements, and supports complex factor‑based pricing solutions integrated with Guidewire PolicyCenter to ensure accurate premium calculation, regulatory compliance, and product profitability.
Candidates must have significant hands‑on RADAR rating experience in production environments.
Core Responsibilities
RADAR Rating & Pricing
Design, configure, and maintain RADAR rating models, algorithms, and routines.
Implement factor‑based pricing for limits, deductibles, coverages, and underwriting attributes.
Manage rate versioning, effective dating, and historical rate changes.
Support frequent rate changes while maintaining accuracy, performance, and auditability.
Rate Tables & Factors
Create and maintain RADAR rate tables (base rates, modifiers, multipliers, tiers).
Configure rating factors (territory, risk characteristics, coverage attributes, underwriting criteria).
Perform impact analysis, testing, validation, and reconciliation of rating changes.
Manage rate rollouts, revisions, and retirement of obsolete logic.
PolicyCenter Integration (Mandatory)
Integrate RADAR with PolicyCenter for quote, bind, endorsement, and renewal flows.
Ensure alignment between RADAR logic, product models, and coverage definitions.
Partner with PolicyCenter teams to expose inputs and return rating outputs correctly.
Coverage & Underwriting Support
Implement rating logic for coverage, limit, deductible, and optional coverage changes.
Align rating with underwriting rules and approved actuarial intent.
Support underwriting issue lifecycle changes as they affect rating.
Validation & Quality
Implement RADAR validation and error‑handling controls.
Troubleshoot rating discrepancies and premium mismatches.
Perform root‑cause analysis across rate tables, factors, and logic.
Forms, UI & Data
Ensure rated values are correctly reflected on policy documents and endorsements.
Support UI and data model changes to capture inputs and display premiums consistently.
Line of Business
Deliver rating solutions across multiple lines of business.
Personal Property rating experience is required.
Proven experience with large‑scale, factor‑based pricing models.
Collaboration & Leadership
Work closely with Product, Actuarial, Underwriting, and Technical teams.
Provide RADAR best‑practice guidance and technical leadership.
Participate in design sessions, reviews, and documentation.
Required Skills & Experience (All Mandatory)
Guidewire & RADAR
10+ years of Guidewire experience, with deep production focus on RADAR.
Hands‑on expertise with RADAR rate tables, factor models, algorithms, performance tuning, and versioned rates.
Proven RADAR integration with Guidewire PolicyCenter.
Insurance Domain
Strong knowledge of insurance pricing, rating structures, and regulatory constraints.
Ability to analyze complex pricing changes, resolve rating defects, and ensure rating consistency across environments.
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $77.73/hour - $121.46/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
