It's been 25 years since we opened our office in Orlando, Florida! To celebrate, our team recently welcomed team members from around the region, along with industry partners, and clients, marking a significant milestone in Robins & Morton's history. Since 1999, our Orlando office has been the hub for construction work that has created a significant economic impact across the Sunshine State, completing more than $8 billion in projects statewide, including $3 billion in Central Florida alone. Today, our Orlando office is leading nearly $1 billion in healthcare construction throughout the state, including $250 million in projects underway in Central Florida. Congratulations to our team for reaching this special mark! We can't wait to see what you accomplish next. hashtag#BuildingWithPurpose
Our San Antonio team was excited to support the first Run The Mission: Race to End Tuberculosis 5K, benefitting patients at the Texas Center for Infectious Disease. The event brought our community together to raise essential funds for those undergoing critical treatment, while also supporting the dedicated healthcare professionals who care for them. Thank you to each of our team members who participated in this inaugural event! #GivingWithPurpose Texas Department of State Health Services
We’re kicking off the new year by celebrating #NationalMentoringMonth! Talk to almost any successful construction management professional, and they’ll tell you that mentorship was — and remains — a very influential part of their career development. At Robins & Morton, we recognize that mentorships can also serve as an effective path to bring people who do not have a construction-related degree into construction management roles. We have three distinct mentorship programs to support non-traditional career paths: The Rocky McMichen Field Leadership Program, the Barbara Wilson Mentorship Program, and the Veteran Mentorship Program. All three are built upon the importance of mentorship to career development in the construction industry.
Robins & Morton's Rocky McMichen Field Leadership Program provides a career progression pathway for craft professionals who wish to move into management positions. It is an intensive, 15-month program involving one-on-one mentorship, hands-on experience, and a classroom curriculum covering 16 established topics from surveying to business writing and communicating. The program is named for retired Senior Vice President Rocky McMichen, who started his career as a carpenter and advanced into an executive position. He also served as a mentor to many of our company’s current leaders and saw the potential in implementing a formal mentoring program. The program was his vision. We are incredibly proud to offer these opportunities to our team members, and we look forward to seeing graduates and future trainees continue to excel. #NationalMentoringMonth
We'd like to congratulate Assistant Project Manager Katie Porter for becoming president of the National Association of Women In Construction Greater Palm Beach chapter. Katie is well-established in the construction industry and has been at the forefront of advocating for inclusion. As vice president of the chapter, she championed initiatives that empowered women, promoted professional development, and fostered a supportive network for individuals navigating similar career paths. At Katie's recognition in September, Palm Beach Gardens Mayor Chelsea Reed also highlighted women in construction by issuing a proclamation for NAWIC Day. We look forward to seeing Katie having an even greater positive impact on women in construction as she serves in this new role. #WomenInConstruction
