Pros
Amazon has an engineering culture and some of the best engineers in the world. This makes it an attractive place for me; because you can learn something from everyone. I also like that the teams are very independent and are empowered to make their own decisions in terms of technical architecture as well as business priorities. This is similar to a startup, but you are still working for a large company with all its benefits: stable environment, better work/life balance, opportunities to switch teams and attend conferences, etc.
Kontras
Its culture may not be for everyone. Amazon expects everybody to share its leadership principles. If you are not very customer focused (customer obsession), or if you want to stay in your comfort zone (ownership), you may not be successful here.
