      Only good thing is stocks which you get will be good.

      No new technology in data engineering field.All about their own tools which is of no use outside company.Very less design work just modify existing sql or write new sql queries.No ETL neither any good tools company has regarding hadoop everything will be taken care by SDE so no scope for de to learn.Lot of operations work.
