Pros

If you are an experienced, highly driven consultant with connections this is a good environment for advancement, as the career path is clearly defined and quite aggressive. Will quickly gain skills and experience desired by many companies.

Kontras

Unless you have a few years of strong consulting experience, this is not the place to be as there is no real training for new hires that come in at a level other than entry-level analyst. You must 'network' your way on to projects, therefore a new hire without any prior working relationships with current employees will not get staffed easily. There is basically zero assistance from HR to facilitate staffing on a project where a new hire might be successful, and in many cases new hires are staffed on a project because they need 'somebody' not because you might be qualified for that role. Similarly, you may not be staffed on a project you are quite qualified for because the hiring manager would prefer to staff someone they are friends with. The performance review process is biased against new hires and biased against anyone who is not trying to fast-track their career up the ladder. Promotional candidates are openly rated higher than their peers even if their performance wasn't better to facilitate promotions. For example, if you have the unfortunate experience to be staffed on your first project with several promotional candidates, you can pretty much count on receiving a low performance rating - regardless of the actual quality of your performance.

Pros

Hands down the best company I've worked for. It's fast-paced, but Accenture genuinely empowers its people rather than micromanaging them. The benefits are a real priority — they invest in your physical and mental health, offer a generous amount of PTO, and there are legitimate opportunities for promotion if you put in the work. If you're someone who gets bored easily in a role, this is one of the few places where you can stay with the same company and reinvent your career multiple times. The investment in training and upskilling is heavy and ongoing. And the culture around authenticity is real, not just a poster in the break room — especially in the neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ communities, you're encouraged to bring your whole self to work and be comfortable being you.

Kontras

This is not the place for you if you don't like change. Pivoting is constant, and keeping up with the latest industry trends can be uncomfortable at times. The sheer size of the organization means it can be hard to find the information you need, and learning the internal infrastructure takes a while. You'll also run into some negativity from folks during tough stretches — but honestly, if you're coming from a turbulent work history elsewhere, you'll recognize that this is much better than most.

Pros

There are a lot of pros working for Accenutre. They have great career opportunities, a never ending supply of interesting work, competitive compensation, wonderful benefits, great people, wonderful training programs, a tremendous number of brilliant professionals in their fields ready to help, and great core values.

Kontras

This is not an opportunity for those that do not want to work. At Accenture everyone has a load of work to do and often times under very tight customer time lines. It is a challenge that I enjoy but many might find it stressful.
