Happy Pride Month! We’re continuing the celebration by highlighting our 2023 Annual DEI Year in Review. In 2023, we hosted an all-agency event highlighting how our SOLE Science™ capabilities can be used to understand and connect with the LGBTQIA+ community. Our efforts extend beyond the month of June as it is a priority to create a safe space for our LGBTQIA+ StoryMakers and form meaningful connections with the LGBTQIA+ community through experiential marketing.
Congratulations to GMR’s Content Producer Michael S. for being shortlisted for the 2024 TBWA\Worldwide Bursary!
GMR’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are a place for StoryMakers to connect, build community, and create projects driven by passion. These groups are lead by volunteers who are passionate about fostering a sense of belonging and creating a safe place to drive meaningful conversations. We're kicking off the Pride Month celebration by sharing a reflection from Laurence Velcoff, GMR’s Executive Strategy Director who previously served as a Co-Lead for PRISM, an ERG that supports our LGBTQIA+ StoryMakers. “This Pride month, I’m celebrating this vital aspect of the LGBTQIA+ community’s strength and solidarity, embracing the importance of chosen bonds in fostering a supportive and nurturing environment.”
GMR's Senior Director of Partnerships and Social Impact, Gerard Littlejohn, took the Black Sports Business Symposium stage in Atlanta last week. He shared the importance of Black voices - and how to effectively leverage emotional appeal to captivate audiences, foster meaningful connections, and drive engagement. A big thanks to G for representing GMR and creating space for these important conversations.
GMR’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are a place for StoryMakers to connect, build community, and create projects driven by passion. These groups are lead by volunteers who are passionate about fostering a sense of belonging and creating a safe place to drive meaningful conversations. Today we're sharing a reflection from Peggy Moe, GMR’s Business Intelligence Lead who also serves as Co-Lead for GLOW, an ERG that supports our female StoryMakers. “I feel I’ve grown in several ways since becoming a co-lead on GLOW. I’ve learned so much about myself as a person and as a woman creating programming for our meetings. I’ve grown to be more confident in my thoughts and more knowledgeable about the world. The members inspire me to look at things from all different angles and perspectives! GLOW allows space for all StoryMakers to express differing points of view and explore sensitive topics that are important to women today, and our hope is that we can continue to provide an open forum for women’s voices at GMR!”
Preach Hugo Bernardo. "Your brand experience is what generates emotional links between your business and your audience; builds memories... Spend wisely."
At GMR, we take pride in our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), which provide belonging and work toward equity for people with shared needs, barriers and challenges. As part of our ERG Co-Lead Spotlight Series, we’re hearing from Ricky Covarrubias, one of GMR’s 2D Designers who also serves as Co-Lead for Yo Soy, an ERG that supports our Hispanic and Latin StoryMakers. “Fortunate to have grown up in the unique borderland of El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, I believe I have a special opportunity to share my experiences and culture with our group. Beyond sharing, I get to learn and listen to different perspectives from my talented co-leader, Iggy, and our amazing members. We all come from different Hispanic/Latin backgrounds; being able to take a step back to find patterns and concepts to discuss amongst my peers is what gets my wheels turning. Yo Soy is about sharing what makes us unique. We are a wonderful kaleidoscope of experience and culture—our diversity of POVs is our superpower, and we hope we can give folks a space to engage with it, regardless of background, creed, or culture!”
Congratulations to Brazil on being awarded the hosting right to the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027. GMR Marketing has history in this country! We were at the bid announcement last year, which took place during the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 Trophy Tour activations with FIFA and CBF- Confederação Brasileira de Futebol - Brazil SOCCER. We were also at the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil through our work with various FIFA Partners and again at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games with our 11 clients, including four TOP partners. This will be the first time the FIFA Women’s World Cup will be hosted in South America, and we are very excited for all the opportunities this will bring.
