At GMR, we aim to create a safe space for our StoryMakers to engage in conversations surrounding mental health. In 2023, we held an event called ‘Unpacking Grief in the Workplace’ with Emma Payne, founder of Help Texts, a grief and mental health service. She joined StoryMakers Lauren Seebacher and Shannon Nickel for a discussion on how grief can show up in the workplace, and how we can more forward with self-compassion and understanding for the grief process. Our efforts expand past Mental Health Awareness Month as we genuinely care about and prioritize the mental well-being of StoryMakers above all else. It was an unforgettable NASCAR weekend with hashtag#GMRClient Xfinity, as the company invited four military veterans who star in its latest “Aviators” brand campaign to a special experience at Dover International Speedway. While the Aviators brand campaign tells the story of a grandfather anticipating a weekend reunion with his fellow veteran, GMR and Xfinity made that story a reality for the four veterans who star in the TV spot. We recruited the help of our partners at NASCAR, Speedway Motorsports, and 23XI Racing to produce a memorable event for these heroes, surrounded by appreciation from NASCAR Fans and community members. The veteran group toured Dover Air Force Base, met NASCAR’s best drivers, and gave the “start your engine” command during the NASCAR Cup Race on Sunday. Xfinity also partnered with 23XI Racing giving fans the highly demanded U.S. Air Force “Warthog” paint scheme on Bubba Wallace’s #23 Xfinity Toyota Camry – a scheme that also featured the names of each of these veterans. The “Aviators” spot can be seen running throughout May as NASCAR and Xfinity recognize and celebrate National Military Appreciation Month.
