Employees and the work they are doing are not valued. Even worse, manager directly says that when doing the job, you shouldn't expect that manager will value you as an employee or evaluate your work if you did it well. Manager is always displeased with the work you're doing, and you don't have any advise or guidance about how to improve your situation. Very discriminatory attitude for employees, Maybe it depends on manager, but I saw teams where only those who had tight, friendly connections with the managers were being promoted. Others could work for years without any promotion or sufficient increase of salary.
