While the organization is known for its scientific innovation, the new structure introduced a significant number of additional internal processes and stakeholders, which often made it challenging to execute efficiently in the field. Another key change was the transition away from traditional sales-based compensation. Reps are now primarily measured and compensated based on Management by Objectives (MBOs), which can feel disconnected from direct performance and customer impact. Additionally, the bonus structure lacks significant upside, which may not align well with high-performing, results-driven sales professionals.
