Ich habe mich online beworben. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert bei EMBL (Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg)
Vorstellungsgespräch
2 rounds interviews,
+ pre-screening: my previous project, why I want to do PhD, what I considered as a successful PhD, Asked me explain p-value. Asked me the process from gene to protein. Ask me what’s the point of multiple hypotheses testing. Asked me what transcribe gene to mRNA.
+ onsite interview: I was invited to the EMBL Heidelberg for the interview week. The administration was very supporting and I felt very welcomed. We get to listen to each supervisor's project overview and walk around the facilities and Heidelberg in the first day (plus an networking event with the PIs). The following days were intensive interviews with different PIs. We have to send the preferences on the last day. The difficulty was in the dense schedule of interviews. The PIs are very supportive and welcoming. Presentations are not required but I prepared one anyway, and there were plenty of opportunities for follow-ups. Afterwards, everyone works very hard to find the best match between the pool of students and PIs.
