Job Overview
Our client is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Labor and Employment Attorney to join our legal team. In this role, you will provide expert legal counsel on a wide range of employment-related issues, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. You will handle complex employment disputes, advise on workplace policies, and support the organization in maintaining a fair, compliant, and productive work environment. Your expertise will help navigate legal challenges related to labor relations, employee rights, and workplace regulations while promoting best practices across the organization.

Duties

• Provide comprehensive legal advice on employment law matters, including wage and hour laws, discrimination, harassment, and workplace safety regulations
• Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, severance packages, non-compete clauses, and confidentiality agreements
• Represent the organization in employment litigation, arbitrations, or administrative proceedings such as EEOC or OSHA investigations
• Conduct legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw to stay current on labor law developments and relevant case law
• Develop and update workplace policies to ensure compliance with evolving legal standards
• Assist in handling employee disputes related to family law issues such as leave policies or custody arrangements when applicable
• Support HR in conducting investigations related to workplace misconduct or violations of company policies
• Collaborate with internal teams on labor negotiations and union-related matters when necessary
• Provide guidance on immigration law issues affecting international employees or visa processes
• Maintain meticulous records of all legal cases, research activities, and policy updates

Skills

• Extensive knowledge of labor and employment law principles and regulations
• Strong negotiation skills to facilitate fair resolutions in disputes or contract negotiations
• Experience with environmental law considerations that may impact workplace operations
• Familiarity with immigration law procedures relevant to workforce management
• Proficiency in landlord-tenant law as it pertains to company property or leased spaces
• Knowledge of family law issues that intersect with employment matters such as parental leave or custody arrangements
• Understanding of securities law as it relates to employee stock options or benefit plans
• Experience handling workers' compensation claims and personal injury cases involving employees
• Awareness of tribal law & regulations if working with indigenous communities or tribal entities
• Litigation experience including managing cases through trial and settlement processes
• Ability to conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms
• Excellent legal writing skills for drafting memos, pleadings, policies, and reports
• Strong legal drafting skills for contracts, policies, and compliance documents
• Prior legal administrative experience managing case files, court filings, and documentation efficiently

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
