You know how they have the Albanian mafia for the drug trade in Europe or the Italian mafia for the trade unions in New York during before the 90s? Its the Lebanese Consulting mafia at S& Middle East. The nepotism and cronyism is insane, coming from the West. You have very smart people from other nationalities getting overlooked for below average Lebanese hires. And these Lebanese guys are all from the same university, course, etc. so they get their friends to be their official mentor, thereby deflecting negative feedback they might receive from Project Leaders. These mentors will simply not bring up their negative feedback during appraisals, thereby allowing poor Lebanese Associates/ SAs who would've otherwise been counselled out to linger around in the firm undeservedly.
