Pros

I've worked here a long time and been through a lot of changes. pay is decent, there are opportunities to try new things and generally work life balance has been good and very flexible. new leadership may be changing that though. it's a giant corporate environment and your experience will vary based on the team you are on. DEI focus has shifted a lot of the employee experience work to feel good programs targeting specific groups vs meaningful impact for employees generally.

Kontras

New CEO has a vision and spent a lot of communication energy around it but it's pretty meaningless drivel and doesn't seem to have a consi6or clear strategy. 'Win with purpose together' is hardly inspiring and definitely doesn't mean much when it's been business as usual. Corporate groups are a mess and strategy consists of a catchy title for a bucket of work that everyone can cram their pet projects in to. Then we get calls for cuts due to 'expense pressures' that wouldn't be necessary of senior leadership could actually define a goal and prioritize resources effectively.

Kontras

Started my career at Liberty Mutual as a Workers' Compensation intern. In the beginning, everything was going well. The workload was demanding, but I genuinely enjoyed the job and the work I was doing. One year later, I got promoted to claim adjuster. Things changed after my manager was seriously injured in a car accident. The department director took over managing our team, and the work environment became completely different. She was extremely rude and practiced excessive micromanagement. She expected me not to take any PTO if my work wasn't completely finished, even when I needed time off because my grandmother had suddenly passed away. The constant pressure and lack of empathy took a serious toll on my mental health. I developed depression during that time and eventually had to seek help from a psychologist. In the end, I decided to leave Liberty Mutual. It was one of the best decisions I made for my well-being, and I would not consider returning to the company.
