Pros

Pay and benefits are great ! The work from home program is nice if your manger allows you to do it.

Kontras

The work load is the biggest down fall. You are expected to work over time to get things done but of course no pay since you are salary. Meetings take up half your work week most are things that could have been thrown in a email. Mangers shows favoritism. The department is divided in teams and it’s clear if you are not on “the team” things will be much harder for you and everyone knows who “the team” is. There has been times when department awards was given to “the team” and no one else in the department. They flat out don’t even try to hide the favoritism. If you tend to be quiet you will get targeted to get pushed out the department by either forcing you to quit or they will place you on a “developmental plan”. This makes you unmarketable to other departments within the company so you race against the clock to find something new outside the company before they try to fire you. Within the last year 6-7 employees have left the department or company all together. There is only 30 people within the department at any given time so that should let you know to run. Worst career decision I had made in my life ! The money is great but not worth the stress.

Kontras

Started my career at Liberty Mutual as a Workers' Compensation intern. In the beginning, everything was going well. The workload was demanding, but I genuinely enjoyed the job and the work I was doing. One year later, I got promoted to claim adjuster. Things changed after my manager was seriously injured in a car accident. The department director took over managing our team, and the work environment became completely different. She was extremely rude and practiced excessive micromanagement. She expected me not to take any PTO if my work wasn't completely finished, even when I needed time off because my grandmother had suddenly passed away. The constant pressure and lack of empathy took a serious toll on my mental health. I developed depression during that time and eventually had to seek help from a psychologist. In the end, I decided to leave Liberty Mutual. It was one of the best decisions I made for my well-being, and I would not consider returning to the company.
