Pros

If you are dedicated and work hard Liberty Mutual pays well to reward you. I started off with an extra salary boost for already having an insurance license. Your first year there is the opportunity to get a promotion 6 months after training based on performance, your 1 yr review, and annual salary review so you can gets 3 raises in your first year! There is also a profit sharing program that pays you based on how much the company makes each year and that is a separate bonus check.

Kontras

Calls centers are difficult. Many people think they are too good to work in a call center and some of the other departments such as business analysts will treat you like dirt. Work life balance is also a little difficult here. Shift includes 1 weekend day, either Saturday or Sunday but its nearly impossible to get that day approved off. You can take off all the Tuesdays or Wednesdays you want though. They also threaten mandatory overtime and are making us work both Saturday and Sunday during high call volume times instead of just hiring more people.

Kontras

Started my career at Liberty Mutual as a Workers' Compensation intern. In the beginning, everything was going well. The workload was demanding, but I genuinely enjoyed the job and the work I was doing. One year later, I got promoted to claim adjuster. Things changed after my manager was seriously injured in a car accident. The department director took over managing our team, and the work environment became completely different. She was extremely rude and practiced excessive micromanagement. She expected me not to take any PTO if my work wasn't completely finished, even when I needed time off because my grandmother had suddenly passed away. The constant pressure and lack of empathy took a serious toll on my mental health. I developed depression during that time and eventually had to seek help from a psychologist. In the end, I decided to leave Liberty Mutual. It was one of the best decisions I made for my well-being, and I would not consider returning to the company.
