Pros

Great pay - highly competitive, you won't find much better in an entry-level job Good benefits - lots of vacation time Coworkers are generally friendly, hard-working people 9-5, basic cubical job

Kontras

High stress - even if you exceed expectations, you will be screamed at on the telephone on a regular basis Every team seems to need at least two new members to make the work-load manageable Most promotions are just title changes and small raises, your job duties don't actually change and you'll sit in the same chair for years Co-workers are overstressed making the environment uncomfortable - everyone seems to hate their job Senior management doesn't seem to do anything but shut the doors of their offices and send out condescending emails Don't plan to eat your lunch - even if you managed to find the time, co-workers will gossip that you dared to leave your desk. It's pretty discouraged. It's almost expected to come early and leave late at this point They are releasing multiple new systems and techniques, but instead of making things easier and better, they just add more layers of red tape and lost time Don't expect to feel fulfilled at the end of the day, it's really just a cubical job.

Kontras

Started my career at Liberty Mutual as a Workers' Compensation intern. In the beginning, everything was going well. The workload was demanding, but I genuinely enjoyed the job and the work I was doing. One year later, I got promoted to claim adjuster. Things changed after my manager was seriously injured in a car accident. The department director took over managing our team, and the work environment became completely different. She was extremely rude and practiced excessive micromanagement. She expected me not to take any PTO if my work wasn't completely finished, even when I needed time off because my grandmother had suddenly passed away. The constant pressure and lack of empathy took a serious toll on my mental health. I developed depression during that time and eventually had to seek help from a psychologist. In the end, I decided to leave Liberty Mutual. It was one of the best decisions I made for my well-being, and I would not consider returning to the company.
