Pros

Good place to meet great software developers and to gain experience by working for some of the top companies in the automotive business.

Regardless of the leadership model that should be followed - during the last year Sofia's office is being managed in a way that made lots of great developers to leave the company. Just plain statistics - from 500 engineers for the year 2013 close to 100 have and will leave the company. The local higher management states that this is due to the payment levels but most of the people have left due to the hypocrisy of the engineering management. They never understood that Bulgaria is not India and if you insult a quality engineer he will leave the company and another at least ten more will follow him telling to all his friends never to think about going in an interview for that company. From a company with a very high rating two years ago now it is the last place in Sofia that a good software developer would prefer to apply to.

Pros

Decent base pay and fast paced work makes the days go by quickly. Lately the company has been actually investing in their new product lines ever since Joakim became our CEO.

Kontras

The compensation is lacking. No bonuses whatsoever for senior level engineers even when they're recognized as a key contributor on the team. We are given our 401k match on March 1st to cover the previous year's matches so you lose out on a lot of the year's market gains. The healthcare coverage is mediocre at best for a fortune 500 company. The raises are still given like it's 2018; 3% is considered a "good" merit increase. This is due to the "forced distribution" merit increase system where only "so many" people can receives "above expectations" raises.
