The culture can feel overly hierarchical and “click-driven,” which slows decision making and discourages experimentation. A large number of long tenured managers/leaders contributes to organizational inertia and can dampen creative momentum. Creative energy often gets diluted by too many layers of approval “too many chefs in the kitchen”. Work life balance is inconsistent; while this is a news organization, expectations should be modeled more intentionally from the top. Quieter voices in meetings are often overshadowed, even when they bring stronger or more forward thinking ideas. Linear TV priorities still dominate, despite clear industry signals that digital should be the primary focus. CNN never promotes. It's not what it was. This management is all about profit and that hurts quality. No work life balance. Lots of racism.
