Pros

There are some very bright folks in the team and during networking events you may come up to these individuals. Most are fleeing

Kontras

Once upon a time having a position was a career booster. Not anymore. DoD is shrinking, and Booz allen rates they charge to the DoD is too much. Competitors have come in to undercut Booz Allen (BAH). BAH has 6% 401k match, salary will stay stagnant. It's the big boys club. My biggest concern was the gap between bah leadership and bah employees. Also lying to you and telling you what you want to hear, but when it came to promotions and your review the msg was not consistent. The leadership is lacking. When it came time for proposals, they don't pay you for the 40+ hours you put in in addition to your regular 42+ hr work week. I had sacrificed numerous evenings and weekends but had no reflection in pay during review time which are now twice a year. Even if your clients wants to pay you more, BAH limits this action. BAH has their own pricing and policy. They don't want you getting paid more too quickly.

Pros

Strong mission-focused culture with meaningful work supporting national security missions. Great exposure to diverse projects, talented teammates, flexible work arrangements, and opportunities to develop skills across security, intelligence, cyber, and consulting. Benefits and professional development resources are solid.

Kontras

The company culture and employee experience have changed significantly in recent years. Earlier years felt more mission-focused and employee-centered, while recent organizational shifts, government spending pressures, and increased emphasis on becoming a technology-focused company have created uncertainty for some employees. Frequent changes in priorities, restructuring, and business decisions can make job stability feel less predictable. Employees may sometimes feel disconnected from leadership, and concerns raised through HR or management channels do not always appear to result in meaningful action or transparency.
