Pros

I worked for Booz Allen Hamilton right after I got out from college. It's a competitive place to work. You either work for Booz Allen Hamilton, Lockeed Martin, Boeing, or BearingPoint. Those were pretty much the choices coming out from college. It's a very professional environment. You wear suits to work everyday. I am a IT person. If you like looking like a banker, it's a place for you. Also, people there are great. I had a good time working with all of my co-workers.

Kontras

Company if very structured. It takes "forever" to move up a level. It goes from level Consultant -> Senior Consultant -> Associate -> Program Manager -> Principal -> Partner. If you start out from the beginning, you pretty much have to be there your whole career to make it up to the management level. I was young and wanted to gain a lot of work experience. I just couldn't wait for it. So I left. That was the biggest reason I left the company. Also, salary was very structured.

Pros

Strong mission-focused culture with meaningful work supporting national security missions. Great exposure to diverse projects, talented teammates, flexible work arrangements, and opportunities to develop skills across security, intelligence, cyber, and consulting. Benefits and professional development resources are solid.

Kontras

The company culture and employee experience have changed significantly in recent years. Earlier years felt more mission-focused and employee-centered, while recent organizational shifts, government spending pressures, and increased emphasis on becoming a technology-focused company have created uncertainty for some employees. Frequent changes in priorities, restructuring, and business decisions can make job stability feel less predictable. Employees may sometimes feel disconnected from leadership, and concerns raised through HR or management channels do not always appear to result in meaningful action or transparency.
