Pros
Salary, flexible schedule (sort-of), car, cell phone. Thankful for my experience and learning through Aldi's training program. I think Aldi is a great place to learn and get valuable management experience but the DM role should not be one for life.
Kontras
Constantly feeling a swinging pendulum between "hitting the numbers" and "doing right by the customer". Even after years in the field, it felt like we were repeating the same conversations and not learning from the past. After <1 year in the field, you've learned what you need to succeed as a DM. From there, people either get lazy and do their job to keep the salary, or get bored and want to find other opportunities. Growth path continues to decline for DMs and many feel stuck in the role. Don't get caught up in the salary and perks, they may not be worth it to dead-end your career right out of college.
