The structure of the interview started with going through my CV and talking through every experience. Although, half way through each segment the interviewer would cut me off to either move on or ask another question. Very abruptly, this was extremely rude. They would not let me finish any of my answers. Competency questions were then asked, again fairly relevant to the role (although this is now an older style of interviewing), however yet again half way through the answers, I was cut off to move on or be asked another question, seemed the interviewers were in a rush. Whilst the interview did go well, I retracted my application. When interviewing, you must be inviting, make the candidate comfortable and portray the company in a positive light. Abruptly cutting them off, asking unprofessional questions such as "why are you applying for this role, is it the money?" and then not listening to the candidate's experience are huge red flags. The irony of this is, the role sounded great and my experience would have aided in the success of the department. I would strongly advise to portray a positive aura, bear in mind you are representing the company and not yourself. You must come across as inviting and a place to entice people to come and work. No open questions, no smiles, cutting answers off as if you don't want to be there is very off putting.
