Appalling experience. I was first invited for an Assessment Centre back in October 2020 and then for a further 1:1 interview only to find out there was no suitable position available after continuously chasing for 4 months. Why take someone through the whole recruitment process if there is no suitable vacancy available?
Surprisingly enough I got invited for another TSE (Assessment Centre) this June, only to find out it was the exact same case study. The overall Assessment Centre experience was quite enjoyable, but unfortunately things went downhill from there. I was told I would get feedback within a week and kept on sending emails and phone calls for the best part of a month, which were all blatantly ignored. When I finally managed to get in touch with them they said they tried to call me several times and apparently had the wrong phone number (which is obviously a lie since my phone number had remained the same all along the recruitment process and I had no missed calls nor voicemails. Not to mention the lack of response from 4 chaser emails I sent them).
I should point out that all the individuals I had interviews with were lovely, such a shame the whole experience got ruined by the poor recruitment process and the lack of feedback… Especially considering the preparation and stress a TSE involves (not to mention having to take a whole afternoon off work, 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗲!)

The people that interviewed me were so lovely, overall very quick turn around in terms of feedback and progression through stages. The case study was fairly straightforward, and you can really tell that Capgemini has a culture focused on people

The whole interview process (HR call, 1st and 2nd round) was unprofessional and disrespectful to the candidate. During the HR call, it seemed very rush and the HR staff even asked if I could do the 1st round interview as soon as the day after (less than 24 hours) and when I posed key questions to the HR, the HR staff said he didn't know and couldn't tell me anything about it and he's just the HR. Scheduled the 1st round interview for 3 days later, it was okay and systematic, the interviewer was someone in the team. The interviewer basically just went through every question that they had and checked each question off.
Didn't hear back for at least a week after the 1st interview and when I did hear back, I received several emails for a Teams meeting scheduled the next day (less than 24 hours notice) without any further explanation at first. I received 5-7 emails in total for different Teams meeting and at first I thought it was spam emails, only until I checked the sender address, I realised that they were sent from a Capgemini email account. Then 3 hours since I received the first email, I finally received further information regarding the other emails received previously and that I got through to the 2nd and final interview round. By the time I received the explanation email, I only had around 18 hours till the 2nd and final interview. Also, the interview was scheduled out of business hours at 8ish am.
I did pretty well during the 2nd and final interview, other candidates who attended the 2nd interview felt somewhat less experienced and seasoned as consultants. I did question if we were all applying for the same role. With less than 24 hours of notice for a 3 hours interview, it's just purely unprofessional and disrespectful to the candidates. Additionally, the format of the 2nd interview was case study which you had to work with other candidates to put together a deck in 1/2 hours. In the information pack email, Capgemini Invent mentioned that candidates shouldn't try to talk over others, demonstrate themselves too much etc. but reality is most people are going to do that and if you don't it would be a disadvantage. This also creates a funny situation where other candidates were just talking for the sake of talking and getting the brownie points. It's just completely illogical to have this kind of format for a final interview not to mention that having this interview format will make scoring even more challenging. Though it's fine if they are just looking for people that are nice and can do the work.
It has demonstrated that the company is completely unprofessional and does not respect candidates at all with the way they arranged the interviews and communicated with the candidates. HR didn't even check initially to see if the salary expectation aligns with what they could offer.
Glad to have walked away.

Group exercise round with other individuals to solve a case. Instructions are given at the time itself and evaluated during the prep and after. Fairly straight forward, primarily evaluating critical thinking, problem solving and team work.
