Opening a new store is no small feat, hundreds of employee owners are involved in every new store opening. Many of our newest employees to WinCo at these new locations are familiar with Martha as one of their WinCo cashier trainers. We spoke to Martha about her experience and training our new employee owners. 1) What is the best part of helping open a new store? The whole process! To be able to teach someone something to help them succeed in what they are doing. 2) What is your best “pro-tip” for cashiers? Be open to all recommendations and experience from other people. 3) Walk us though was training looks like for a Cashier at a new store? Knowing how the way the equipment works, even though some steps may be simple there is a rhyme to how the equipment is used. Learning how to help customers. 4) What does being an employer owner mean to you? Take pride in job and in store. Has been with WinCo for 17 years, there has not been one day where she didn’t feel valued.
