CHR's X-Games recently took place, and despite a little rain, we had a lot of fun! This annual event has grown significantly over the years. It started at one residential group home and now includes the entire Residential and Rehab Divisions from Enfield and Manchester. Activities ranged from games, crafts, trivia, raffles, and a cookout lunch. It’s a celebration of health, hope, and recovery!
Getting Social! CHR’s marketing team recently shared ideas about digital marketing with a multidisciplinary group of leaders on the Operations Committee. Thanks for all the great suggestions! CHR Rallies for Nonprofit Funding! CHR proudly participated in today’s Rally for Nonprofit Funding at the state Capitol in Hartford. Organized by the CT Nonprofit Alliance, with an estimated attendance of more than 1,800 people, speakers at the rally called for equitable funding for nonprofits like CHR. “Everyone is aware there is a mental health crisis for children, but we can’t move forward without the funding for staff,” said Caitlyn Ogilvie, LCSW, Service Director in CHR’s Child and Family Division, who called for increased funding to help retain compassionate, experienced staff to help children and families heal and grow. With just two weeks left in this year’s legislative session, it remains unclear if the state budget will include any increases for nonprofits like CHR.
