These practices, dubbed ID spoofing, have been under increased scrutiny since February and are the subject of conversations within the IAB Tech Lab. It’s tricky to detect when ID spoofing is happening, and this will only get harder with cookie deprecation. Data from demand-side platform Basis Technologies found that when publishers and supply-side platforms use techniques disguised as regular cookie-based targeting, conversion rates decline." Basis Technologies announced a first-to-market integration enabling agencies and marketers to measure Reddit ad campaigns from its platform. The Basis media automation platform now accesses real-time ad delivery data from Reddit. Its delivery data integrations from third-party ad products already include Google Ads (Search, Performance Max), Microsoft (Bing, LinkedIn), Meta (Facebook, Instagram), TikTok and Snapchat.
For Walmart, which already is one of the biggest retail sales operators for low-end connected TV sets, making a deal with Vizio is an obvious choice. “By diversifying off site inventory, Walmart could open opportunities to leverage their customer data via Walmart Connect to reach potential purchasers in Vizio OS,” says Amy Rumpler,senior vice president/search & social media services for Basis Technologies, which uses Walmart’s Retail Media Network. Basis decided to let workers roll out at noon at the end of the week following several years of experiments that at times included being off for the whole day on Friday.
