If you're thinking of joining, now’s the perfect time. 4. No need to worry about retrenchment. As long as you're good at cozying up to the right superiors, you'll survive. You can even handle your own business during work hours. 5. Endless meetings with little follow-up action. Just show up, nod, and enjoy the easy life with few accountability. 6. Yearly appraisals are so poorly handled that even poor performance goes unnoticed. No punishment, no demotion—nothing to worry about if you're underperforming.

1. Working under the constant threat of the GM's outbursts. 2. Promotions are rare. New managers/supervisors/engineers are air-dropped in to replace those who wouldn’t play along with the GM's bullying tactics. 3. Don't count on a year-end bonus.
