Pros

-Free Lunch (4 out of the 5 days) -Most lower-level coworkers are willing to help you out -Some of the events that the company hosts are fun to participate in

Kontras

-The onboarding process is ROUGH to say the least. You get a good start, but it reverts to startup-quality onboarding where you're almost on your own in some departments. -Benefits could be better (insurance-wise) -There is NO true internal movement unless it's out of necessity here. Job requirements are so high that internal applicants DON'T apply as they're told they don't meet the minimum. -There are no resources for you to learn how to move up or out of your position. They were in the process of creating a new structure for this, but it's just a structural change, not assistance with how to actually be better. -Once you find out your worth, you'll find that pay is not the greatest here. It could be worse, but don't be surprised if you're making less than others as a higher tiered employee. -The lack of product knowledge across the board makes it REALLY hard to get help when trying to address something (from how to market to how to support, it's a shame when nobody seems to know exactly how the newest features work besides one person) Lastly, upper management seems to be it complete disarray when it comes to the VPs. There's no communication between lower level and the C-level so nobody's ever on the same page, and it generally is very hard to get the right message about the company, its future, and your future when different people tell you polar opposites about what's going on.

I'm sorry to hear of your viewpoint. We have had over 40 internal promotions and transfers so far this year, including transitions between teams and departments, so there is certainly opportunity for continued growth. I see you're no longer with the company, so you missed out on the exciting news we shared this week that we were able to secure a 0% rate increase on medical benefits for our employees, and simplified our plans for easier use. We'll continue to share our progress with everyone in the organization through our monthly town halls and other channels as we completely agree that successful and consistent communication is the cornerstone of our continued growth. We wish you all the best in your career!

Pros

This is an out with the old and in with the new story. Don’t believe everything you read from negative reviews. The companies new leadership is doing EXACTLY what should have been done over 5 years ago. If you’re a solid worker with talent and seasoned experience outside of WW you’ll fit in with the new first string team members. We are working on things that the past teams should have completed years ago and now it’s actually going to happen. That’s a comeback kid story for sure.

Kontras

Based on my pros you can guess there are some folks who have been let go recently and some others who are left and have feelings about it. The cleaning out of the old and the wave of incoming new people is a pro not a con some people need to get with that program and perform or exit. Don’t let those bad attitudes stop you from joining, they can see themselves to the door as quickly as you can come fill their seat.

Pros

Remote work, flexible PTO. I had the privilege of working alongside some genuinely passionate and talented people. That went a long way for me personally.

Kontras

Anyone considering a role at WorkWave, specifically in product design, deserves to be able to make an informed choice. Salaries fall very far below market rate. This was widely known and openly discussed internally. Annual raises of ~3% (if any) mean that your compensation actually loses significant value over time. Loyalty to the company means your salary diminishes with each passing year. Raises don’t come close to offsetting cost of living increases, inflation, etc. My honest advice is to shop around, know your worth, and don’t become complacent if you do join. No bonus structure below management level, and no WFH stipend. Disorganization at the leadership level tends to roll downhill. Rather than collaborating to solve problems, blame tends to land on whoever has the least authority. Not worth it especially given the compensation and everything else at play. Product design’s leadership warrants particular attention. During my tenure, a new member of product design’s leadership used Glassdoor on 4/2/2026 not to evaluate the company, but to praise themselves while disparaging colleagues, notably during an active HR investigation into their own conduct. I’d STRONGLY encourage anyone considering this team to find that review and decide whether that’s a leadership style you will thrive under. I have no personal feelings about it, however it’s critical you understand the leadership team’s culture and personality. I think they did a really good job laying that out in their review and I applaud their transparency. Multiple rounds of layoffs eliminated almost all engineers who knew our legacy codebase, as well as QA. Offshore contractors with no familiarity with the code and no overlapping time zone hours were brought in to fill the gap. Layoffs were also handled without any transparency. The only way to know if a colleague was let go was to search their name in Slack and see if the account had been deactivated. Leadership was told specifically they were not allowed to say who was laid off. High visibility projects were affected, but deadlines remained intact. This isn’t an isolated way of handling things here. Work/life balance will be poor if a low salary means that you need to fill the gap by other means outside of normal working hours. On a personal note: the circumstances that pushed me to leave ultimately opened better doors, and for that I’m genuinely grateful. Not really a con in my opinion though.
