Pros
Openness to data driven decision making across Engineering Leadership, Geo Flexibility (more so in TA vs rest of company, but still relatively flexible across company), aversion to narrative/sales approach to launch projects/products (data driven plan typically required), and an opportunity to be part of a team where you are recognized equally for personal accomplishments and those of your greater team. I would also say Waymo's commitment to volunteerism is genuine in that the company cares for our communities and those that live within them..no matter their station or situation.
Kontras
Occasionally entrenched thinking from Waymo's past (heavy Google presence). Behaviors (we vs me, just because it's worked in the past doesn't mean it can't be improved/or adapting to new realities in an ever changing landscape) can be challenging to change, but necessary for the greater good of delivering a world changing product. There has been tremendous improvement in these areas, however, always room for more!!
