Pros

I like being able to help people get medicines they need and counselling. We are well compensated for our time.

Kontras

There are a number of problems with the system. We are constantly training new techs due to the fact that once they get licensed, other places hire them for more money and benefits. If you want a life and family, it is hard to do in the company..We are constantly short-handed and the managers who are supposed to be able to fill in when a tech is out are incapable of doing the job. Long experience with the company has shown that the last thing you want to do is be a pharmacy manager. It is not worth the added stress and all the attendent crap which accompanys the position. T00 much stess and Little support from above. The latest is having us do flu shots. I do not object but it was a volunteer program..It is now a mandatory one or get shipped to a store way out of the way..And we received no additional help....Who fills when pharmacist is giving a shot?

Pros

Can be a fun environment. All in whom your staff is. Operating photo was fun and building projects for the customers. Learning about pharmacy operations.

Kontras

Work life balance and low pay for what is expected. Not having enough payroll to effectively run a store. My store ran FE on a 320 hour a week budget. That was barely enough to get buy and meet the expectations put out by the company. I was never able to keep a full leadership staff. When a leader called out, I had to stay. There were days I was called away from my own dinner table. SM's were forced to be in the pharmacy for more than half of their day regardless as to what is happening in the FE. I worked over 50 hours a week and barely got to spend time with my family. If I wasn't at the store I was getting a phone call and having to go back to the store.
