The company was aware that my position was being made redundant for quite some time and assured me that they would be moving me to a separate role. I spent a lot of time and energy preparing for this, but when the time came, I was laid off without notice rather than given the promised transfer.
A few months afterward, the company sent me an email to let me know that due to an error on their side, they would be removing money from my (fully vested) 401k. Not a good look.
Having good benefits, culture, and values is completely negated if you treat your employees like disposable garbage.
