Can't think of anything major
Pros
VVR really cares about their staff. I made some life long friends there and have definitely experienced personal growth.
Kontras
Although it is extremely beautiful and lots to do outdoors, it is a little drive to town. Good thing that Amazon/UPS ship there well.
Pros
-Gorgeous place to live and work, lots of fun activities on the ranch and in town. -Good tips split evenly between all employees except for management. -Housing is actually pretty good for a seasonal job. Food is great--three meals provided every day except for saturday evenings. "Luxury" aspect certainly shows. -Fun work envirnoment, I got along well with most of my coworkers. -Upper management is wonderful, genuinely willing to help and will go above and beyond to make sure you are doing well. Very nice and form genuine connections with each employee. -Management would occasionally plan activites on/off the ranch and off work for employees. Many people also go on weekend trips during their time off. Not difficult to get days off. -Genuine once in a lifetime experience, you will walk away with new friends and many, many stories to tell.
Kontras
-Living and working with the same people can get very tiring and will create for some drama. -Cliques form which can sometimes be isolating. -Definitely leans way more conservative in terms of the types of people that work on/visit the ranch. As a queer person, I always felt slightly uncomfortable but never had any directly bad experiences with anyone, but I did feel like an odd one out at times. -Can sometimes feel repetitive, boring, and physically isolating. Also somewhat difficult to ever feel like you are off the clock since you are around guests and must maintain a "guestable" appearance/behavior during meals or if you participate in the evening activities like barn dance or music night.
