Pros
I had a great experience, but my review comes from the other nuances and experiences that my cohort would be too scared to share. Some the PI's are wonderful, but you will quickly realize that you could have the worst possible situation, probably because of the environment, and they will find a way to make it worse.
Kontras
Staff, faculty are always finger pointing and are just generally slow. Urgency is not a word for UCR Staff. Students don't get paid in time because of staff not prioritizing the paperwork, international students have been stuck in their home countries because of the same issue. Too many issues, but the hope is there, but a massive re-hiring or pay raise for staff will be necessary for get people motivated at this place.
