Pros

Great Learning Environment: You’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple areas, as the small size allows for exposure to various tasks and responsibilities. Opportunities for Growth: Due to the lack of a rigid hierarchy, you have the chance to step up, take initiative, and develop new skills. Collaborative Team: The smaller team size fosters closer relationships with colleagues, and it’s easier to get help or collaborate on projects. Diverse Responsibilities: You’ll often wear many hats, which can accelerate your growth and help you build a broad skillset. Less Bureaucracy: Decisions can be made quickly without being bogged down by endless approval processes.

Kontras

Poor Management: Leadership can be disorganized, leading to unclear goals and expectations, which can make it difficult to stay focused. Lack of Structure: The absence of effective management can result in chaotic workflows, leaving employees to figure things out on their own. Limited Resources: The company may not have the financial or technical resources that larger organizations provide, limiting access to tools and development opportunities. High Turnover: Due to poor management and frustration with the lack of structure, the company may experience frequent employee departures, affecting team stability. Limited Career Progression: While it’s a good place to learn, there might not be clear pathways for long-term career advancement within the company.

Pros

Really cool company and management.

Kontras

Barely received any communication. Received a task and expected to have it done with no real timeline.

Pros

The program is self-paced. You can spend as little or as much time as you need to learn the material.

Kontras

The program is advertised as a 12-16 week training. They do not say that this is possible by spending 80+ hours per week including weekends. If you are a single person able to devote the time, then by all means go for it. If you are deciding about a career change, then go elsewhere with a documented learning program. The TTT program for most people as I observed a 1 year program. Oh and when you try to get a job as a junior developer, most companies will indicate that they require at least 1 year professional experience. How do you get your foot in the door of a company to get professional experience if no one will give it to you? The answer is most likely needing to find a place that will accept you as an unpaid intern. Best of luck in your future endeavors if you are seeking a career change. Additionally factor in the daily time it will take you to travel to and from the TTT building on Rector St.
