Pros
- Flexibility (read: family friendly. You don't have to stress about picking your kid up from school/daycare. I added a start just for that and my next point.) - Great example of hiring with a DEI lense when it comes to BIPOC and Women - On the "better" side of average medical plans available, but not, "WOW!" - Despite working across time zones, people are really good about respecting collaborating on deliverables
Kontras
- While I understood the intention of the onboarding program, ultimately it was very confusing switching trainers every week and from the start seemed incredibly unstructured. - If you want to have marketing team mates in the same office as you, this is not the job for you. Everyone is across the country and remote. - Not up to industry standards in terms of CRM and InDesign - Company seems to run on a razor edge of margins, have layoffs regularly, don't get comfy. Last to hire, first to fire. - Mismatch in terms of being on the same page between middle and upper management. - If you want to be part of a marketing department that has a real presence in BD, there are a few pockets, but few and far in-between. (You can't even bill for BD in your timesheet.) Marketing is lacking in the decision power it should be for affecting processes and change. - Leans conservative on graphics, creativity, and workflow processes- if you're looking to be original within brand guidelines or bring a fresh approach- you won't find it here. - If your neurodivergent and need a lot of documentation to make sure you are hitting standards- this is not the job for you. Most of the department plays by hard and fast rules, and asking for clarification (outside of grammar edits) is incredibly subjective, while ironically and paradoxically the department is extremely process orientated. - 401k plan is subpar for a company that size - don't plan to negotiate your offer- they will not budge - company culture is sorely lacking in satellite offices
