Burn out. If you enjoy on call rotations so intense you literally can’t commute to the office, or mow the lawn, or get to the grocery store the week you’re on call, you’ll be fine. If you enjoy constantly being tapped for after hours work because there just aren’t sufficient experienced engineers staffed 24x7 to handle it, you’ll enjoy that too. Forget about work-life balance.
