Pros

You can work out of your home if you are in the sales department - this is the only plus. I can't think of any other benefit to working here.

Kontras

Where do I begin? I was promised $2,000 per month base plus commission with a handshake. What I got was $20,000 a year - quite a bit less than the $24,000 a year I needed. The owner seemed aggravated that I wanted product training. With over 100,000 products on his website, I had asked for some of the most profitable and best sellers. I'm the sales rep, I'm supposed to know. The owner had over 25 years in this industry. I'm just starting out and my goal of $100,000 a month was not communicated to me properly. Every other place I worked there was training and a goal of $40,000 per month. Paychecks were often late, until January 2010, where he couldn't pay me at all. I left, filed unemployment. I seldom received help from the owner (head of sales) and had to rely on field technicians to price out quotations. Customers wanted quotations right away. The owner told me to do quotes at the end of the day. Whenever I did quotes right away, I got sales. When I delayed quotes, few of them closed. I wasn't making sales.

Pros

My last year there was 2010 the drop down box doesn't go that far in the past. There is a lot of training at this company. Good pay too.

Kontras

There really are no cons.

Pros

Believer it or not, lack of having a training program is probably the biggest benefit at Telcom & Data. You'll be thrown into a crash course of "Figure it out yourself". STICK IT OUT!! Having to scrounge you're way through the process of how it all works will make you that much more proficient at the job. After at least a year, it'll certainly open the doors to a great career at a much more stable corporation (with a MUCH better salary; one that makes you WANT to go to work). Another perk [that I experienced] are your co-workers. You'll grow a family-like bond; a support system more or less. The building is beautiful. The neighbors are great. Gallery nights are a blast. It's close to Target, The Outpost, small shops of Bayview, etc.

Kontras

Extremely stressful. Probably due to the fact that, for at least the first month or two, you have NO idea what you're doing (but you're expected to). Watch out for the temper that'll ensue! No benefits; No health plan, no 401K, no student reimbursement, no nothing. There will be talks about it, but don't be fooled. It's not going to happen. There's always "BIG things coming". This is a technique used to try to make you want to continue working here. Nothing more than that though.
