Pros
- Get a 10% discount on everything in the store - Depending on the area, most employees are great people to work with - The company always looks out for their workers - Flexible hours that help you keep everyday life and work life balanced - People get recognized for their achievement in "meetings" - Will mostly give time off when needed if it is scheduled at least 2 weeks ahead of time
Kontras
- Closing shifts are lonesome, little to no interaction from anyone at all, may not be a con for some people however when your schedule consists of nothing but closing shifts, it really starts to take a toll on people - Opportunity to climb higher in the company is mostly non-existent - Some leaders are inadequate at their job, this leads to lower morale - Promises that have been made from higher ups are mostly empty - Instructions or directions from the higher ups also tend to inhibit work flow and causes parts of the department to be more strained then they need to be during busy hours. - Since you mostly work alone, when there are a multitude of people asking for things at the same time, you need to prioritize. Many coworkers and customers do not understand this and they get impatient if they are not dealt with right away. This is expected for guests however when you have your coworkers yelling at you, the problem persists and is detrimental to the working environment - Leaders also seem to like to micromanage which in turn lead others to hate their manager, or job in general. Micromanaging can be fine in some situations however, I've even had leaders who yelled at the backroom team for not finishing under the one hour limit that they imposed themselves rather than the company 2 hour limit.
