Pros
- Opportunity for progression to higher roles. - Closely knitted team. - Learning and development on the job through management coaching and LMS. - Free transportation to work. - Employee welfare package(thing of the past though) - HMO - Pension - Yearly upward salary review(a thing of the past, not anymore) - Salary may not be necessarily low considering Nigeria workforce market as a whole but the workload can make it feel like it is. I dropped this in pros because this pay can be good for someone coming from a terrible organization. TP salary may be fair to such a person especially if their experience is also low.
Kontras
- Salary disparities due to night shift allowances leading to disputes. It can either be underpaid or not paid at all. Dispute will have to be raised before this can be corrected and it will most likely repeat again the following month. An endless cycle, - High workload mostly not commensurate with the pay. - Micromanagement by higher ops depending on who is at the wheel at the time. - Constant changing targets and KPIs with little to no time for proper adjustments and criticisms may follow if those targets were affected due to that lack of time for adjustment. - Disparity in salaries is worse for junior level roles like customer support. - Targets/KPIs for junior roles are mostly unrealistic considering that the company wants quality work. However, due to the unrealistic targets, employees often prioritize quantity over quality just to be able to meet up and avoid a significant reduction in salary for the month. There should be balance. - Management used to listen to pain points of staff but not anymore. General meetings used to mean that staff could be rest assured that things would be better but it's just to fulfill all righteousness now.
