Pros
I am on the verge of leaving this company and have spent good time here during last few years. I will try to be as balanced as possible, but will side with ground reality. So here we Office is new and well managed – this is pretty well managed premises if that is what attracts your in your next role. Limited attrition at top management - most of the management is occupied with entertaining Germany colleagues during their India visits, holding their bags and providing them with false sense of “transformation and progress”. There is saying internally that most of the *leaders* anyways are unlikely to find new job outside and awaiting their ‘happy ending’ retirement here.
Kontras
Low Utilization and limited project opportunity – you may or may not get projects as India gets billing per FTE and India management over-hired people in last few years and now average utilization is pretty low, so now they are firing people without any reasons. Mar’25 they fired around 200 and planning to fire more. Net headcount during 2024 was Zero. Pls check with your internal connects before joining, this is not IT services company, but purely body-shop company to T-Systems Germany, that is what is called client here. Nepotism– It is well known amongst employees that the current CHRO got this role purely based on good relationship with someone influential internally, inspite of this being first HR role ever in life for this person. With so much of great talent available internally and outside in India, there is no logical justification to have this person as CHRO. With no past know-how of how HR function is run, now it has demoralized the function and has put to stake the career of India employees with her authoritarian regime. Employee revolt on this extremely incapable CHRO and it was reflected in worst ever internal Pulse survey 2024 and Glassdoor review of 2 star within 8 months of new CHRO. On social media, one can see a trend between mid’24 till feb’25 that there are a lot of generic sounding and positive reviews – these are all current employees forced by HR team to write good reviews. **Global CEO of the company **also noticed this, but decided to keep mum due to local influence. No/ poor professionalism – on top of above point, in this company to get promotion, you have to go through a 5 people committee (even for junior level promotions) and is heavily skewed with HR and an *independent* external consultant’s opinion. It is known internally that the external consultant’s opinion is highly influenced by internal decision makers and the entire process is just a sham to orchestrate “ transparency”. Finally, many leaders are hanging around with no work in Cloud, SAP, Digital everywhere. To give another example, on Servicenow, while this is so much business in market, but people are spending disproportionate time with a particular employee inside the room. With nothing to do whole day, found a new passion to generic book reading and keep posting motivational stuff on social media and become HR ambassador. And this is the talent that brings you close to big bosses and ensure your bright future in this company - so if this is something resonates with you, join T-Systems, else look for better options.
