We are hearing the concerns around D&I and have announced a plan last week, which includes a significant budget of up to $1 Million dollars a year allocated towards DEIB initiatives. We are hiring a Director of D&I, a Director of Organizational Learning and Development, and are investing in inclusion and career path training, programs, partnerships, and reporting.
We do our best to create an open, safe space for questions. One of our core values is transparency. We truly believe that open and honest communication, while sometimes uncomfortable, leads to productive conversations. That said, we know not everyone feels comfortable asking questions in front of a large group. Officevibe has a predetermined set of questions to measure engagement through weekly surveys and also includes a suggestion box to share feedback, anonymously or non-anonymously, not covered in the existing surveys. This enables the People Team and leaders to engage in healthy dialogue on areas of constructive feedback or questions raised by employees in both an anonymous and non-anonymous format (based on individual preferences). If a question arises for AMA, or an employee has feedback that they do not feel comfortable raising in front of a group, we encourage them to go to one of their business partners or anyone on the People team.
We are open to other ideas where we can collect and respond to feedback and are working tirelessly to ensure Stack Overflow is a safe space for all employees.
