Pros

-There are lots of incentives to do well and reach your goals personally and as a team! -All of the employees at SpotHopper are awesome people to work with! -A lot of flexibility with your work hours -Continuing to grow with the number of employees and SpotHopper is also expanding to new cities -Exciting to see the company set and reach new goals every month -Gives you great experience as well!

Kontras

Doing your own taxes would be the only "con" I see. Other than that, at first the cold-calling aspect can be intimidating, but it only took a few days before that aspect was gone!

Thanks so much for leaving a review! Glad you love working here and watching us grow (you’re apart of that)! Thanks for your feedback and we did change to W2! You’re right, cold calling can be a lot at first so we’re glad it went away!

Pros

I can't say enough good things about working at SpotHopper! In my first few months with the company, I went from having no outside sales experience to being trained on a legitimate product and business through an amazing five-week training program led by Marilyn. She is one of the most genuinely kind and supportive people I've worked with, but she also really knows her stuff. She did a great job of making sure we had both the knowledge and confidence to succeed. Bee also played a huge role in setting us up for success by creating a super straightforward and actionable process for booking meetings and building pipeline. Having a clear system from both of the to follow made the transition into outside sales feel much less overwhelming and gave me a lot of confidence going into the field. From there, I was put into the field as a Junior Account Executive with no outside sales experience and only seven months of post-grad experience at a recruitment firm. Almost immediately, I started seeing results. I hit my promotion target in just over two months and was promoted from Junior Account Executive to Account Executive. My manager, Harrison, has been instrumental in my growth and development as a salesperson. What stands out most about his leadership style is his ability to tailor his coaching to each individual rep rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. He takes the time to understand your strengths, identify areas of opportunity, and provide actionable feedback that helps you improve both strategically and tactically. His coaching has pushed me to think more critically, refine my sales approach, and continue developing the skills necessary to succeed in a competitive environment. He creates an atmosphere of accountability, support, and continuous improvement, which has been a major factor in my early success and professional growth. That mindset really comes from the top down. I had a conversation with Grace, our VP of Sales, and she shared that her goal is to help every rep achieve what they want out of their career—whether that's work-life balance, financial success, or growth within the company. That people-first mentality genuinely shows throughout the organization. On top of that, Niko, our CEO, has built a product that truly makes a difference for restaurants. It's incredibly motivating to sell something that provides real value to business owners, and having confidence in the product makes all the difference. At the end of the day, SpotHopper is a genuinely fun place to work with a ton of opportunity, great leadership, and some of the best people I've had the chance to work with.

Kontras

If you don't do your job, you're going to be asked why you're not doing your job. That's not a con—it's how a well-run company should operate. :)

Pros

Clear goals Dining stipend when the whole team hits quota Remote work Decent benefits (health, vision, dental, 401k) Supportive managers Great teammates Room for growth if you meet your goals and are open to talk to your manager Flexible schedules Realistic quota goals I quite like the job, and sometimes it does sound too good to be true. I think the negative reviews I read here are super harsh, but everyone has different experiences, and I've only had the managers I've worked with who have all been amazing! I would say if you're looking to get into sales, the BDR position is a good one. The pay also doesn't hurt at all.

Kontras

Can sometimes feel a little micro-managed Restaurant owners on the phone can be a little rude but that's not SH's fault The 24/7 positivity seems fake, but it's not like it's unbearable No meal breaks unless your state legally requires it, so you're eating through lunch 10 days PTO... come on now... but no weekends and all major holiday's are off so they try to sell it to you as you have more time off
