Reactionary management. Most supervisors spend all their effort and time just reacting to upper management. Talented people who are great supervisors that really give a great effort to the job spend thousands of hours on tasks that don't ever actually produce a result. Seems as if sometimes they are "playing office" with ridiculous unneeded constant conference calls and the like. Ive seen extremely intelligent innovative people fall under this umbrella, possibly they will find some enlightenment with Time Warner/ Bright House merge?
