Archaic and draconian in the way they go about many departmental procedures, processes and implementations. Highly hierarchical, i.e. don't talk to anyone "above" your level. Hard to move up. No training for people managers can lead to terrible situations where "subordinates" are mistreated. Rampant idea stealing and claiming credit for other people's work. Minimal professional development provided, or reimbursed for.
