They believe their success from the 1980's is still relevant today and that being a market leader once means you will always be one (which is not the case). Heavily Micro-managed and continually reporting which leaves very little time for actual productive work. The Japanese culture and mentality is forced throughout the entire company. Long work hours are expected and vacation seen as a complete luxury.
