Pros

Core product ideas - spreadsheet interface, integration with existing data in warehouse - are good. Code quality is not bad, good and up to date tech used. People are nice.

Kontras

Little scope for innovation. Brutal code review culture driven mostly by CTO. Top down with little autonomy or feedback. Feels stagnant, bureaucratic, unproductive.

We agree that culture impacts everything from how inspired someone feels at work to if they feel they have the tools and processes they need to do great work. We've made a number of investments that positively impact our engineering team, including expanding our leadership team, instituting a cross-departmental culture team to proactively seek feedback, as well as refining our code review process and product road mapping strategy. Simply calling this organization political doesn't illustrate how conniving leadership is here. Strong favoritism and disregard for merit. Saw really talented individuals sabotaged because their existence undermined another's agenda. Falling behind on AI. We used to be the innovative company in this space but now we're months behind from our competitors. Our success historically has nothing to do with our capabilities it's how we brand our capabilities. We do much more selling of our roadmap versus selling what we actually do. Leadership is just looking for a liquidity event to line their pockets and dip. When a company's sole purpose is to cash out it means they don't see long-term value in our space. Great companies that will be around for the long run are looking to capture market, organizations with little to contribute to a space look to get paid out. We'll be another Sisense, Domo, or thoughtspot nothing more. If you are good at brown nosing this is the place for you. But even then you'll stay in your seat forever. There is little upward mobility in this company. They look to pay for external talent over generating a culture of growth. Not a good place to be early on in your career. When you build an army of mercenaries everyone flees at this first sign of trouble.
