- There is a good ole boy network in play - upward mobility is largely dependent on who you know - Lots of "promotions" are actually lateral moves across business units - It's not all rainbows, lollipops and flowers - there's a fairly long ramp-up period if you're in sales, and on a bad day, dealing with certain resellers and/or vendors can be enough to drive you to drinking
