Pros

Amazing opportunity to learn general management . One has to do a bit of everything ; Team building and management , Logistics , Finance ,Technical problem solving, client management etc . There is a steep learning curve for first two years at this position .

Kontras

Work Life balance can be a bit odd at times , specially for Field Service Managers . Work on rig happens 24/7 , and since FSM is responsible for flawless service delivery at rigsite , one can always expect a call at 2 AM in the night when something gone awry .One needs to be on call at all the times and keep checking mails .
