Rm3 does not care about their employees, despite putting on a very convincing face. I was "let go" while on an approved leave to care for a disabled family member. Absolutely heartless. There was no indication from any of my supervisors that I would be terminated. In fact, the entire company is short staffed and headed into the busiest time of the year! Rm3 has a chronic problem of not being able to retain employees. 10 employees left the company in less than 10 months. 5 of which were department leads or upper management. It is a highly stressful environment with unrealistic expectations and ZERO empathy from the Managing Director. Every employee is over worked, under paid, and under valued. The company has been understaffed for months and refuses to hire enough staff to cover every department. Employees are regularly expected to do the jobs of 2+ positions without any additional pay or consideration. Upper management continually says they value "fairness" yet no fairness is actually extended to the employees. If you ask for a raise or improved conditions, you will be met with gaslighting from the President, Managing Director, and HR. Rm3 offers the lowest salary of any cannabis testing facility in the state of Colorado. Technicians who perform the majority of the testing are getting paid the same as retail and food service positions. Yet management regularly talks down about other cannabis labs and states that the other labs pass every test because they hire inexperienced technicians. Hypocrisy like this runs rampant among management. Another example of this is the mask requirements. Every employee is required to wear a mask unless you are eating or drinking. But they do not enforce the mask policy on any visitors to the lab. Employees can get written up or terminated for not wearing a mask yet visitors get a free pass. Favoritism is another problem among management. If management likes you, you can get special benefits like a reduced schedule, set hours, remote work, and promotions. Otherwise, you are SOL and subject to indefinite overtime, increased workload, and empty promises. Its no wonder that the turnover rate is so high and has been this high for YEARS. I would only recommend working for Rm3 as a recent college grad to gain experience in the cannabis industry and move on after 6mo-1yr. If you are a more experienced scientist, you will NOT be paid what you are worth and will be expected to take on more and more responsibilities without any additional pay. This is not the place to have a career.
